The ice skating rink in Bryant Park is only FREE ice skating in The Big Apple. And like all good things, it doesn’t last forever. The ice skating rink is closing on Sunday, Jan. 24th to make way for the spring fashion shows. So grab your skates and go. The rink is open daily from 8 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, you can skate until 10 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday, until midnight. The rink is in between Sixth Avenue and the back of the New York Public Library, between 40th and 42nd streets. There’s also skating lessons and skate rentals.
On Tuesday, Jan 12, Disney on Ice! Disney On Ice and Figure Skating Champion Michael Weiss team up to celebrate the Olympic spirit and honor skaters from the Special Olympics of New York with a special highlight performance. That’s free also, at 12:30 p.m.
