There are two family-friendly Hannukah celebrations on Sunday, December 13th –
Latkes and Applesauce is the name of the annual performance by the Poppy Seed Players, this year featuring a Hanukkah version of A Christmas Carol and the story of “Thomas the Shamus”. It’s all great fun, at the Merkin Concert Hall, 129 W. 67th St., near Broadway. It’s at 11 a.m., and costs $20.
The Hanukkathon is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 13th at the Children’s Galleries for Jewish Culture, 515 West 20th St., near Tenth Ave. It’s an afternoon of music, a treasure hunt, and prizes. The kids will have a chance to make Hanukkah lamps out of clay, create large dreidels and design “stained glass” decorations to hang in the window. It costs $8.
